I fall into this category but I do Linux hacking on my desktop on my spare time but depend on my phone during work for PIM and viewing and editing office files. The N900 is the hobbyist's and developer's dream phone. On half of my audiobook (Panucci does this on my DRM-stripped m4b audiobooks and this is odd since the N900's media player can play the same audiobooks just fine but of course is missing resume-where-last-played). I'm also looking for a good audiobook/podcast player that doesn't lock up Good office suite that takes less than a minute to launch and doesn't require me to use a magnifying glass for hitting the controls with the stylus (OpenOffice in Easy Debian). There's a lot of functionality missing, even very basic functions like dialing USSD codes and MMS, that requires extra apps. These are just off the top of my head, the list keeps going.īear in mind the iPhone would be TERRIBLE without apps because it doesn't actually do much of anything natively. n900 has microsd slot for up to 32gb expansion in storage n900 will probably still multitask better than the iphone as iphone seems to have a severely limited ability to multitask. in australia, we've had 3.5g upĪnd running since the days of the n73, and the n900 can take advantage of that. although some may consider resistive touchscreens to be **bleep**, i personally find them much better because with a stylus, you get pinpoint accuracy. n900 has a display resolution of 800x480, which has more than twice as many pixelsĪs the iphone's 480x320 display. n900 has fm transmitter, and receiver for that matter. There are still big differences between n900 and iphone. whats the point if you have to look at the back of the phone instead of at the other person? not everyone carries a mirror. its only just getting things that nokia can do. Iphone os 4.0 seems like a disappointment. so its life is gonna be pretty good and prove to be pretty interesting. Meego theoretically has twice the developer base as it is being used in intel atom based notebooks as well.
